Seaforth is getting ready to mark a major milestone as the community gets set for its 150th Homecoming Celebration. Running from July 31 to August 4, 2025, the Civic Holiday long weekend promises five days of non-stop entertainment, local histor,y and family-friendly activities.
Organizers are calling it a celebration "for the ages," inviting past and present residents, families, friends, and anyone with a connection to the town to return to the heart of Huron County for a memorable weekend.
The festivities officially kick off on Thursday, July 31, with opening ceremonies at the Seaforth Curling Club and a Huron County Fastball game between the Walton Brewers and Fullarton A’s.
The fun continues Friday with a homecoming golf tournament, art shows, museum exhibits, sidewalk sales, and a community fish fry. In the evening, a portion of the downtown transforms into a dance floor for a high-energy street party featuring live music.
Saturday is one of the busiest days of the celebration, with everything from a Teddy Bear Picnic, Pickleball Tournament, Family Historical Displays, and a Summerfest street fair, to a Seaforth Hockey Reunion, Cornhole Tournament, and Youth Ball Hockey Tournament.
Sunday brings another full slate of activities, including a classic Car Show, more reunions, community church services, and the highly anticipated Homecoming Parade, which rolls down Main Street at 2:00 p.m. The day wraps up with a chicken BBQ dinner and a closing concert by local favourites Highway 21 at the Seaforth Legion.
The final day, Monday, features a Youth Bicycle Rodeo, a Free Swim at Lions Park, and a closing ceremony.
The Homecoming will also highlight Seaforth’s history and heritage. Doors Open Seaforth, historical displays, and tours of the historic Van Egmond House provide insight into the town’s rich past.
The Homecoming Parade on Sunday is expected to be one of the weekend’s biggest draws. Starting at the Optimist Park and heading north to the Seaforth Community Centre.
