Wellington North secures programming funding for seniors

Wellington North has received $25,000 to boost local programming for seniors.

The Township of Wellington North says that Ontario Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility has provided the funding through the Seniors Community Grant 2025-26 program.

The township will use the funding to deliver the Tech and Trek: Adventures, Connections, and Learning Program.

That program will feature community bus trips, intergenerational events and drop-in technology sessions, which will offer seniors "a chance to build confidence with technology, ask questions, and receive one-on-one support in a safe, judgment-free space," according to the township.

Programming will begin this summer, concluding in March 2026.

"The Township of Wellington North is very grateful to the Province of Ontario for its support of this program," said Mayor Andy Lennox. “The Township was fortunate to receive funds through this program in 2024-25, and the response from our community was overwhelmingly positive. Seniors are a vital part of our community, and to be able to offer these services to the through the Tech & Trek program is much appreciated."
