Local marinas and beaches have been given prestigious Blue Flag status by the Swim Drink Fish organization.
The Blue Flag status is given to local beaches and marinas that "meet high environmental, safety, and cleanliness standards," according to a media release from Swim Drink Fish, which has been the National Operator of the Blue Flag program in Canada since 2020.
This year, the Grand Bend and Village of Bayfield Marinas were awarded Blue Flags. Additionally, the Grand Bend Beach was also designated.
Canatara Park Beach in Sarnia also received the award, alongside the Port Franks Marina in Lambton County.
