The Grey Bruce OPP are accepting applications for this summer's Youth In Policing Initiative.

The YIPI program is a paid employment opportunity for youth between the ages of 15 and 18. A YIPI youth will engage in hands-on learning experiences that emphasize the importance of leadership, teamwork, and community engagement. Employment will be for 8 weeks in July and August and the youth will receive up to 40 hours a week.

Candidates must be between 15 and 18-years-of-age by this summer, be currently enrolled in secondary school, be legally eligible to work in Canada, successfully complete the recruitment and background clearance process and be a resident of the Grey Bruce OPP policed area.

Youth that participate will, among other things, be attending community events, meeting with uniform and civilian policing units, taking part in crime prevention campaigns and cleaning police vehicles, boats or garages.
