Georgian Bluffs enjoying hosting Owen Sound Attack training camp

The Township of Georgian Bluffs is enjoying hosting the Owen Sound Attack training camp this year.

With upgrades currently underway at the Attack's regular home at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound, the Shallow Lake and District Community Centre was chosen to host this year's camp.

The arena is home to the Shallow Lake Lakers Minor Hockey Association, as well as numerous other sporting organizations and recreational leagues.

With training camp well underway, the Township of Georgian Bluffs is extending its thanks to the Attack organization for choosing Shallow Lake as the home of this year’s training camp.

Residents are encouraged to come out and catch the camp practices and scrimmages.

"This is a great way to wrap up the summer, and celebrate hockey and community," said Mayor Sue Carleton. "Love of the game runs deep in Georgian Bluffs, and to host the Attack is a real honour. We’re proud to showcase our arena, the dedicated staff who run it, and the community spirit that makes Shallow Lake such a special place."

"The Shallow Lake Arena has been fantastic" added Dale DeGray, General Manager for the Attack. "As an alternative rink, the ice and the group working here has been outstanding. The facility has been everything we need and there have been zero hiccups."
