North Perth man arrested during in progress break-and-enter

One North Perth man has been charged for a break-and-enter, but police say another suspect is still outstanding.

Perth County OPP responded to a call on of a break-and-enter in progress on Line 87 in North Perth, just after 3 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

A 54-year-old was arrested at the scene, but another person fled on foot.

A search was conducted with the assistance of the West Region OPP Canine Unit and the Emergency Response Team, but the second person was not located.

The 54-year-old was charged with break and enter a place to commit an indictable offence, trespassing at night and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in January.
