Charges have been laid against a 25-year-old man after an assault in Hanover.
Hanover police were called by a passerby who reported seeing a woman being punched, kicked, and thrown to the ground on a residential street on Sunday.
Officers arrived and arrested a 25-year-old man of no fixed address. He is charged with one count of assault and two counts of breach of undertaking. The man appeared for a bail hearing where he was remanded into custody, police said.
The woman was not seriously hurt.
Police confirmed the incident was not random as the pair were known to each other.
