Maroons' Baker named prospect, performer of week in GOHL

The start of the season for Chatham Maroons forward Andrew Baker has been nothing short of spectacular.

The 17-year-old has been named the Greater Ontario Hockey League's (GOHL) prospect of the week and the Western Conference's performer of the week.

Baker started the season with a three-point game, which included his first league goal, against the London Nationals.

He followed up that performance with five points during the Maroons' home opener against the Komoka Kings.

His eight points puts him second in league scoring, trailing only Matteo Gauthier of the St. Catharines Falcons, who put up nine points in two games of his own. Gauthier was also recognized by the GOHL as he was named the Eastern Conference's performer of the week.

Baker was drafted by the Guelph Storm in the 2025 Ontario Hockey League (OHL) draft and, despite being a rookie, is in his second season with the Maroons after suiting up for two games last season.
