People affected by the recent water restrictions in Chatham-Kent can once again water their lawns daily.
The municipality officially lifted its last restrictions on Tuesday, roughly three weeks after repairs on a main water transmission line feeding the Chatham Water Treatment Plant limited the amount of water residents could use.
"The response to the emergency measures demonstrated what can be accomplished when residents, businesses and organizations work together during a challenging situation," read a statement from the municipality.
During the emergency, residents in Chatham, Grande Pointe, Pain Court, Dover Centre, Mitchell’s Bay, Dresden, Tupperville, Eberts, Jeannette’s Creek, Thamesville and Kent Bridge were asked not to bathe or do laundry for multiple days.
These restrictions were lifted at the end of August, with the municipality asking property owners to water lawns every other day and avoid non-essential uses outdoors to help restore the water supply.
