CK man arrested following repeated incidents at a King Street business

Chatham-Kent (CK) police were called on Thursday afternoon for a report of a man going to a King Street business when he'd previously been told by the court to stay away.

According to police, the 52-year-old was caught urinating in a container of fresh cooking grease owned by the company.

Police said that the man had been removed from the area in the past for harassing staff. At the time of the most recent incident, he was under a probation order to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The man faces charges of mischief and failure to comply with a probation order.

He was taken into police custody and held for bail.

Broken window leads to charges

Some expensive reported vandalism has led to a charge of mischief over $5,000.

CK police said the incident happened just before 12:30 a.m. on Friday at a Talbot Street address in Wheatley.

Officers said that a 39-year-old man smashed a window with a metal bar. He was arrested and taken to police headquarters.

He's since been released with a future court date.

Woman faces assault charge after reported domestic disturbance

A 45-year-old woman is facing an assault charge following an overnight attack.

CK police said they were called to a Chatham address just before 11:30 p.m. on Thursday for a disturbance.

When they arrived, officers determined that the woman had punched a man in the face while he was sleeping.

She was arrested, but has since been released with a future court date.

Banned meet-up, alleged break-in leads to arrest

Chatham-Kent police were called to a vacant house on Thursday evening after a pair was reportedly seen going inside.

According to police, a man and a woman were seen entering a boarded-up home on Main Street in Wallaceburg.

Investigators said that when they arrived, the woman took off, but officers managed to arrest the man.

It was determined that the man was under court conditions not to communicate with the woman. He was arrested and charged with forcible entry, being in a house unlawfully, and failing to comply with a release order.

The 36-year-old was taken to police headquarters were he was held for bail.
