West Grey Fire Service enacts temporary fire ban

A temporary fire ban has been put in effect by West Grey Fire Service.

On Friday morning, West Grey Fire Service issued a total ban on all outdoor recreational/campfires and all open-air burning.

The ban is in response to ongoing poor quality air conditions, as much of the region remains under and orange-level air quality warning from Environment Canada.

The ban will remain in effect until further notice from West Grey Fire Service. All active burn permits are suspended and no new permits will be issued until the ban is eventually lifted.

West Grey Fire Service will continue to monitor and further information will be provide through official channels as conditions improve.

Any questions or concerns regarding the fire ban can be directed to West Grey Fire Chief Phil Schwartz at [email protected].
