CK looking to award exceptional seniors

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent (CK) is asking residents to nominate seniors that have marked a major milestone or made a difference in the community for the Senior Achievement Awards.

"We are asking for the public's help," said Mayor Darrin Canniff. "Everyone knows someone who has made a difference - whether through a group effort or as an individual. This is your chance to tell us about that person so we can acknowledge their contributions."

Eligible nominees must be CK residents who are 60 years of age or older.

Nominations for the 2026 awards can be made at Let's Talk CK until June 30.

The long-standing tradition of honouring CK's most experienced citizens dates back to the 1980s. The municipality shared that more than 1,000 seniors have been recognized since that time.

Winners, including the 2026 Senior of the Year, will be announced during the free Aging Well Conference on September 16.
