Multiple break-ins under investigation in CK

Chatham-Kent (CK) police are investigating multiple break-and-enters in Chatham and Wallaceburg.

Each occurred on Thursday, with the first happening at a home on Vanier Drive in Chatham.

Between 7 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., someone broke into the home's detached garage and stole several tools and batteries. Police estimate the value of the stolen items to be around $250.

A few hours later, police received a report of a theft at a home on Dale Drive in Chatham.

Several items, estimated to be worth around $2,000, were taken between 12:30 p.m. and 1:50 p.m. According to police, the suspect or suspects entered the home after damaging the main lock.

An additional $400 in U.S. cash was also stolen.

Police did not say whether the two break-ins were related.

On Thursday evening, officers were called to Glen Mickle Park in Wallaceburg.

It's alleged someone broke into multiple locked bathrooms sometime during the day. Damage to the doors is estimated at around $2,000.
