Wallaceburg woman arrested for assault

A 40-year-old Wallaceburg woman is charged with assault after an argument turned violent.

Chatham-Kent police said they were called to an address on Reaume Avenue in Wallaceburg just after noon on Wednesday and learned that the woman had allegedly hit the victim with an object.

Officers said the victim reported minor injuries.

The woman accused of assault was arrested and later released with a future court date.

Wallaceburg man arrested mid-break-in

A Wallaceburg man is facing a pair of charges after he allegedly broke into a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham early Thursday morning.

Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the business shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday and found a 41-year-old Wallaceburg man who had broken into the building.

The man was arrested and charged with breaking and entering with intent and possession of break-and-enter tools.

He was later released with a future court date.

St. Thomas police, London police nab suspects wanted in CK

Chatham-Kent police got a little help from their colleagues in St. Thomas and London on Wednesday.

St. Thomas police contacted CK police shortly after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday to let them know that they had a 35-year-old London resident in custody who was wanted in Chatham-Kent for skipping court.

She was turned over to Chatham-Kent police pending a bail hearing.

London police also notified CK police at around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday that they had someone in custody who was wanted in Chatham-Kent.

A 53-year-old London man who was wanted on a catch-and-release warrant was arrested in London and later released with a future court date.
