Pastabilities Luncheon supporting food security initiatives a go for Monday

The Unemployment Help Centre Hub of Opportunities is bringing together 25 local restaurants to tackle local hunger on Monday.

The Fourth Annual Pastabilities Luncheon unites culinary talent with compassion by raising money to fight food insecurity in Windsor and Essex County.

Last year's event brought out 1,200 people and raised $59,000 to support food initiatives, including local food banks, the community kitchen, and the Plentiful Harvest Food Rescue Program.

The Windsor Essex Food Bank Association recorded more than 254,000 visits last year, and 30 per cent of those fed were children.

"The need for support is greater than ever," read a release.

The luncheon starts at 11 a.m. at the Ciociaro Club on Monday, and should wrap up at 2 p.m.
