Participants ready for 2026 Windsor-Essex Polar Plunge

Law enforcement in Windsor and Essex County, along with St. Clair College, hosts the 12th Annual Windsor-Essex Polar Plunge on Friday night at the Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre.

An above-ground pool has been installed outside the centre where participants will make an icy plunge to raise money for Special Olympics Ontario.

The event gets underway at 6 p.m. on Friday.

Last year, about 60 people braved the icy water to empower athletes with intellectual disabilities, including LaSalle Mayor Crystal Meloche and LaSalle Police Chief Michael Pearce.
