Stoney Point woman celebrates a $50K windfall

It turned out to be a happy holiday season for a Lakeshore woman.

Brankica Papic of Stoney Point entered the Ontario 49 game for the December 27, 2025 draw, and came away with the second prize of $50,000.

Papic picked up her winner's cheque at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

"The numbers I like to play are special to me because they’re based on the birthdays of family members," said Papic, a 20-year lottery player. "I saw $50,000 appear on the screen and scanned my ticket over and over again in shock and disbelief."

Papic plans to use her winnings to pay off some bills and save for the future.

She bought her winning ticket at the Comber Food Market on Main Street.

Ontario 49 is played every Wednesday and Saturday. Combination Play is available in five, seven, eight, and nine-number selections.
