Teen charged in vehicle theft

A teen was arrested and charged after a vehicle, left running with the keys inside, was stolen last week.

Police were called to the area of Tecumseh Road East and Alexis Road just before 8 a.m. Thursday, after the unoccupied Ford Fusion was stolen.

The suspect was described as wearing a black balaclava.

The vehicle was recovered on Reginald Street later that day. During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered a .38-calibre bullet.

The 17-year-old suspect was arrested Saturday on Drouillard Road. They were charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime, wearing a disguise to commit an offence, operation while prohibited, and failure to comply with a youth sentence order.
