Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) agents at Windsor's points of entry were busy in late November.
Over a four-day period, agents at the Ambassador Bridge and Windsor-Detroit Tunnel seized weapons and ammunition, all from U.S. residents crossing into Canada.
On Tuesday, November 25, a firearm was confiscated at the tunnel, along with 17 rounds of ammunition and an overcapacity magazine. At the bridge, a firearm was seized from another traveller.
On Friday, November 28, another firearm was seized at the bridge, while at the tunnel, a firearm and 33 rounds were taken.
Finally, on Saturday, November 29, an overcapacity magazine and 14 rounds were seized at the bridge.
A total of $5,000 was issued in fines, but no arrests were made and each time, the traveller was sent back to Detroit.
Complete information on bringing firearms into Canada can be found at the CBSA's official website.
