Two suspects arrested for Amherstburg arson

Two people from the GTA have been arrested for an arson in Amherstburg earlier this year.

Around 5 a.m. on January 18, emergency crews responded to a blaze at a new-build house on Cowan Court.

It was the third time in 16 months that the property was the target of an arson attack.

The fire caused over $1 million in damages to the home and a neighbouring property.

The Windsor Police Arson Unit obtained footage of three suspects running from the property carrying gas vans and fleeing in a black luxury SUV.

A 19-year-old from Mississauga and a 19-year-old from Brampton have been charged with arson causing property damage, possession of incendiary materials, and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence of arson.
