Sarnia students to benefit from $1.2M investment at St. Matthew School

A major, labour intensive exterior construction project has been approved for a Sarnia Catholic elementary school.

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board (SCCDSB) signed off on over $1.5 million in capital projects recently.

A partial roof replacement at St. Matthew Catholic School on Elm Drive was included, estimated to cost $1,217,814.

In a news release, the board said renovations and site improvements like this help keep schools safe, welcoming, and ready for learning.

Rear asphalt and yard improvements, estimated to cost $373,844, were also approved for St. Anne Catholic School in Blenheim.

SCCDSB said the investments are part of the board’s annual capital renewal strategy and are funded through the Ministry of Education’s annual capital funding allocations.

The board said additional capital projects will be shared with the board of trustees for consideration at the regular board meeting in May.
