Progressive Auto Sales celebrates 25 years with Ford acquisition

For the second time in four years, a popular Sarnia dealership has changed hands.

Progressive Auto Sales has purchased Finch Ford Lincoln from Ryan Finch and Mark Guy.

Progressive Auto Sales President Dan Whitton said he and his brother John acquired the Indian Road dealership, now called Sarnia Ford Lincoln, on Friday.

"We had an opportunity to purchase the local store, and for us it just seemed like a great fit," said Whitton. "Ford is a great brand and Sarnia is a blue collar town, and it just seemed like the right fit for us."

Whitton said he doesn't anticipate the purchase of the dealership to impact operations at Progressive Auto Sales on Exmouth Street.

"It's going to be run as a completely separate entity," he said. "If anything, we'll just share resources back and forth a little bit, but no impact on Progressive Auto Sales itself."

In 2026, Progressive Auto Sales is celebrating 25 years in business, while this year also marks 100 years Ford has been in Sarnia.

"It's an exciting opportunity for us, and looking forward to continue serving the Sarnia community," said Whitton.

Whitton said the purchase of the dealership will have no impact on Sarnia Sting operations, as the team is partially owned by Ryan Finch and Mark Guy.
