Sarnia teacher facing sexual assault charges

A teacher in Sarnia is facing charges, accused of sexual offenses involving students.

Sarnia police said investigators obtained evidence that the teacher allegedly engaged in criminal conduct involving multiple students in 2023 and 2024 while they were under his authority as a teacher at Ecole Secondaire Catholique St. Francois Xavier.

On February 20, officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Errol Road. That same day, 33-year-old Kevin Partington was arrested.

He is charged with four counts of sexual assault, four counts of sexual exploitation, making child pornography, and break and enter with intent.

Partington was remanded into custody following a bail hearing.

The school board said Partington was placed on administrative leave before the arrest.

Police initially announced the arrest in a news release on Saturday. But police say that news release was retracted out of an abundance of caution, related to concerns about a possible publication ban. However, police reissued the news release on Monday after determining that the information did not fall under any publication ban.

Investigators believe there may be more victims or witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sarnia police at 519-344-8861.
