Drugs, weapons seized from Sarnia 'trap house'

Sarnia police say they've shut down an infamous "trap house" in the city's south end that was the subject of a YouTube video earlier this year.

Police said the video, released in January, features a group of young men boasting about drug trafficking in Sarnia while flaunting large amounts of cash.

On August 25, at around 9 p.m., members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT), Major Case Action Team (MCAT), and K9 (PSD Vader) executed a search warrant at a residence on Tecumseh Street and arrested four people.

It's alleged one of them was combative and officers had to use a taser.

Police said the following items were seized:

- Loaded Glock Gen43X handgun (10 rounds in the magazine)

- Two additional 10-round capacity magazines

- Firearm speed loader

- Firearm holster

- 261 rounds of various ammunition

- Multiple cellphones

- 3.06 grams of suspected MDMA

- 0.43g of suspected crack cocaine

- 84 morphine pills

- 15 unidentified pills

- 39 Hydromorphone pills

- 77 Oxycodone pills

- 336.22g of pressed cocaine

- Drug packaging materials

- Digital scales

- $19,685 in cash

Police said the estimated street value of the seized drugs is $42,258.

Jordan Hayes, 20, Riley Gabriel Smith, 21, Craig Curtis Dooley, 20, and Kevin Lawrence Hayes, 51, all of Sarnia have all been held for bail.

They each face the following charges:

- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking

- Possession of morphine for the purpose of trafficking

- Possession of oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking

- Possession of hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking

- Possession of MDMA for the purpose of trafficking

- Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose

- Unauthorized possession of a firearm

- Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized

- Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition

- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm

- Careless storage of a firearm

- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Police said Smith also faces two counts of failing to comply with probation and Dooley faces an additional charge of failing to comply with a release order.

During their appearance in bail court, each accused was remanded into custody.
