Sarnia Sting forwards Alessandro Di Iorio and Beckham Edwards have both been named to Canada’s National Men’s Under-18 Team for the 2025 IIHF U18 Men’s World Championship.
They are the only two forwards born in 2008 to make the roster.
Sarnia native and Windsor Spitfires forward Jack Nesbitt also made the team.
The tournament runs from April 23 to May 3 in Frisco and Allen, Texas.
Canada's first game is April 24 against Slovakia.
The team will also face Latvia, Finland, and Norway in the preliminary round, with the medal games set for May 3.
Team Canada General Manager Scott Walker commented in a news release.
"Representing your country on the international stage is an incredible honour," said Walker. "These young men have earned this opportunity through their dedication and performance this season. We’re confident in the group we’ve assembled and excited to get started in Texas."
Di Iorio and Edwards both previously represented Canada at the U17 World Challenge held in Sarnia.
