Drugs seized in raid of Confederation St. residence

Sarnia police have prevented more dangerous drugs from hitting the city's streets.

On Wednesday, March 19, at 7:20 p.m., officers with the Major Case Action Team (MCAT), Emergency Response Team (ERT), and the Canine Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Confederation Street near Vidal Street South.

A search of the home and a vehicle allegedly turned up 13.95 grams of suspected uncut fentanyl, 4.84 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 0.66 grams of street-ready fentanyl, drug trafficking paraphernalia and a small quantity of cash.

Police said the estimated street value of the cut fentanyl is between $5,000 and $10,000, depending on the cutting ratio.

The crystal methamphetamine has an estimated street value of $250.

Shane Arlin Marsh, 51, of Sarnia, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl and crystal methamphetamine), two breaches of a release order, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

He was held for a bail hearing.
