Take a virtual tour of Kincardine hospital redevelopment

The South Bruce Grey Health Centre (SBGHC) is inviting people to take a virtual tour of the redeveloped Kincardine hospital, as the project hopefully starts construction mid-way through next year.

According to SBGHC, the final planning documents for the hospital redevelopment project have been submitted to the Ministry of Health for review and approval, so that they can proceed to an open tendering process.

"To celebrate this milestone, we are excited to share a virtual tour of the new space, showcasing what our patients, visitors, staff and physicians can look forward to," said Nancy Shaw, SBGHC President and CEO in a media release.

The hospital redevelopment project includes an expansion and modernization of the Emergency Department, an MRI suite, laboratory, decontamination room, and more.

Construction is targeted to begin in early summer 2027.

To date, the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation has raised over $16M for the project through its $18M Building Health Care for Generations capital fundraising campaign.

"This milestone belongs to everyone who has supported the Building Health Care for Generations campaign," said Becky Fair, President of the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation. "The overwhelming generosity of our community to date demonstrates how deeply people care about ensuring access to exceptional health care close to home. Seeing this project request approval to move to the tendering stage is a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when an entire community comes together."
