A local publishing legend and the co-founder of the Blyth Festival passed away over the weekend.
Keith Roulston passed away on November 1 at the age of 79.
Roulston owned a number of local papers during his professional career, starting with the Blyth Standard in 1971. He later founded The Citizen in Blyth and Brussels in 1985.
During that time, he also formed Blyth Festival in 1975 along with James Roy and Anne Chislett. Through community fundraising, the group was able to complete repairs to the Blyth Memorial Hall, which still houses the theatre to this day.
Roulston also wrote a number of plays that showed at the Festival Theatre, including most recently Powers and Gloria.
In the wake of his passing, the Huron County Historical Society said it will still be moving ahead with its scheduled encore viewing of Roulston's 75-minute interview with Lisa LaFlamme.
The Historical Society said the event should be seen as an opportunity to remember his legacy, as the funeral service will be a private family affair.
The screening will be held at Blyth Memorial Community Hall on Sunday, November 15 at 2 p.m.
