Free flu, COVID-19 vaccines now available to general public

All Ontarians six-months and older can now get a free flu and COVID-19 shot.

As of Monday, the vaccinations are available to the general public. Ontarians can receive the vaccines at participating pharmacies, public health units, and doctor and nurse practitioner offices across the province.

The annual fall immunization program launched September 28 for high-risk groups including the elderly and hospital workers.

“Vaccination helps reduce the risk of severe illness and hospitalization, particularly for older adults and other vulnerable populations," said Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore. "I encourage Ontarians to get vaccinated as soon as possible to help keep themselves and their loved ones healthy this season.”

Moore added that getting both the flu and COVID-19 vaccines at the same time is safe and recommended to avoid multiple trips to a health-care provider.

A list of pharmacies offering the COVID-19 and flu vaccines can be found online at ontario.ca/vaccine-locations/.

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) shots are also available to people 75-years-old and older, long-term care and retirement home residents, infants up to eight-months old born on or after April 1, 2026, and pregnant women.
