Getting into the spooky season spirit just got easier in Georgian Bluffs.
The township will be hosting a free Halloween-themed pop-up movie night at the Kemble Arena on Friday. The evening will feature the 1991 dark comedy classic "The Addams Family," starring Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia, and Christopher Lloyd as Morticia, Gomez, and Uncle Fester Addams.
"Gather your family and friends for a frightfully fun evening with free admission and a complimentary concession stand, featuring fresh popcorn generously sponsored by Eh!Tel Networks, along with assorted snacks and Halloween candy," the township said in a statement.
Those planning to attend the evening are advised to bring a lawn chair, blanket, or cushions to sit on. Although standard chairs will be provided.
In addition to the movie, there will be a community costume swap. People are asked to bring any costumes their household has outgrown or grown tired of. That can include capes, accessories, masks, and other costume items in good condition. The swap is intended to make Halloween more affordable and sustainable for area families.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. The movie screening will begin at 6:30 p.m.
