Bruce County Public Library introduces Discovery Backpacks

The Bruce County Public Library (BCPL) has introduced a new set of backpacks aimed at helping local youth learn.

The new discovery backpacks assist children with learning through reading, play and hands-on exploration. Designed for kids aged 4-9, each backpack encourages learning in different ways. The backpacks combine reading with various activities on a specific topic in one easy-to-borrow package.

Families can borrow a backpack from any BCPL Branch for up to three weeks. The collection includes a wide range of themes reflecting children’s interests and experiences. Some topics include grief, nature, space, diverse families, and fire safety, among many others.

The Discovery Backpack collection is possible thanks to the support of a $5,000 grant from Community Foundation Grey Bruce.

Families can explore the collection and reserve a backpack through the online catalogue at library.brucecounty.on.ca or visit their local branch to learn more.
