There is a new deputy fire chief in Saugeen Shores.
The town appointed Anthony Woodruff to the role left vacant when Rob Atkinson was named fire chief in July.
Woodruff brings more than 18 years of experience, having previously worked in suppression, fire prevention, fire investigation, training, and municipal governance. He is a certified fire investigator and fire inspector and serves as an adjunct instructor and lead evaluator at the Ontario Fire College delivering programs that include hazardous materials and ice water rescue.
Woodruff's first day on the job was last Monday.
