Bruce County has officially named Danzel Smith as its new Director of Corporate Facilities, stepping into a key role on the Senior Leadership Team to oversee the municipality’s diverse building footprint.
In his new position, Smith will take charge of strategic planning, daily building operations, ongoing upkeep, eco-friendly initiatives, and safety compliance across county properties. He comes to the post with nearly two decades of leadership experience spanning municipal operations, manufacturing, and commercial real estate. Over his career, Smith has managed complex, multi-site infrastructure projects, coordinated emergency responses, and directed energy-efficiency programs. He holds an MBA, a diploma in Energy Systems Engineering Technology, a Certified Technician designation, and a PMP certification.

Moving forward, Smith will collaborate across departments to prioritize smart property investments, refine daily operations, and make sure public facilities are equipped to serve the community for years to come.
