Grey Bruce Public Health has issued an alert after several suspected drug poisonings over the past few days.
According to GBPH, there were three reports for suspected opioid-related overdoses from June 30 to July 1.
In all cases, the substance was unknown, but naloxone was used successfully.
Other calls to the Health Unit indicated potential fentanyl use with the circulation of a yellow substance in the area. According to GBPH, the suspected substance may also cause prolonged sedation.
People who use drugs are encouraged to have naloxone on hand and to always have a sober friend with them who can help in case of an overdose.
Naloxone is available at pharmacies and participating community partners, and at Grey Bruce Public Health, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
