For the next week, Perth County OPP officers will be keeping a close eye on how drivers behave in local intersections.
The Crossroads Safety Campaign will run from Monday, June 15 until Sunday, June 21 across Perth County as patrolling officers will be cracking down on obeying intersection safety measures, including all-way stops.
According to numbers from the OPP, between 2021 and 2025, Perth County OPP responded to 4,940 motor vehicle collisions and about a quarter of those collisions were intersection-related.
During this campaign, motorists can expect to see an increase in police presence and enforcement action taken at intersections throughout the county.
This campaign coincides with the OPP highlighting a recent change at a busy intersection in Fullarton. The intersection of Perth Line 20 and Perth Road 163 used to be a 2-way stop, but the intersection is now an all-way stop, and police are reminding drivers to be aware of the change and respect the new rules at the intersection.
