Mildmay country star Owen Riegling took home more trophies than any other artist nominated at Sunday night's Country Music Association of Ontario Awards.
He won in three of the four categories he was nominated in, securing male artist of the year, fans' choice, and single of the year for "Taillight this Town."
This is the third straight year Riegling has claimed the prize for male artist of the year and the second consecutive year he has been named fans' choice.
Riegling missed out on songwriter of the year; that award went to Jessica Sevier, Robyn Ottolini, and Derek Hoffman for “Good to Drive.”
The night also featured a performance by Riegling, along with others from Sully Burrows, Olivia Mae Graham, Jessica Sevier, Elyse Saunders, School House, Tyler Lorette, Cory Marks, Les Rats d’Swompe, and the CMAOntario house band The Western Swing Authority.
The 14th annual awards were handed out at Port Credit Memorial Arena in Mississauga. The award show, hosted by multi-CMAOntario and Canadian Country Music Association award winner Jason Blaine and Country Nights host Sam McDaid, wrapped up the CMAOntario Festival and Awards Weekend.
