Owen Sound Library session gets cyclists ready to roll

Dust off those handlebars and pump up those tires because cycling season is officially upon us.

If your trusty two-wheeler is looking a bit more "rusty" than "ready," the Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library has just the thing to get you back on the road safely.

The library is bringing back Mike Elder from Bikeface Cycling for a special spring tune-up session this Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 6:30 pm. This interactive event held in the library auditorium is designed to help local riders master the basics of bicycle care through live demonstrations and a chance for the audience to get involved.

Elder is a familiar face to many at the library, having shared his mechanical expertise with the community for several years. He is eager to help cyclists of all skill levels feel more at home with a wrench in their hand.

"I'm looking forward to providing some bike knowledge and hope everyone goes home with more confidence to work on their own bike,” Elder added.

This community program is completely free of charge and welcomes participants of every age. To keep things manageable in the auditorium, please leave your personal bicycles at home as this session is strictly for observing, learning, and asking the experts your most pressing gear questions. No registration is required.
