Huron County OPP confirmed a young person was struck while using a crosswalk in the area of Ontario Street (Highway 8) and Smith Street North.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
Police have said additional details may be released later in the day on Friday.
