An investigation that began last month into illegal drugs in North Huron has ended with charges against six people.
The Huron-Perth OPP Community Street Crimes Unit launched the investigation which led investigators to a home on Currie Line. As part of the probe, investigators stopped a vehicle in the municipality on March 31, arresting three people inside. A related search carried out the same day resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, oxycodone, and hydromorphone. The drugs are valued at an estimated $9,064.
Prohibited knives, a taser, weigh scales, packaging, and cellphones were also found during the search.
Four men and two women, ranging in age from 38 to 49, have been charged with drug-related offences including possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. Additionally, two of the accused also face charges of possession of a prohibited device.
The investigation is ongoing.
