Saugeen Shores offering residents supplies to help with community clean-up

Saugeen Shores residents can help spruce up parks, trails, and other public spaces left dingy and debris-covered after a long winter.

The town will host a spring cleaning week from April 18 to 26. As part of the initiative, gloves and garbage bags will be provided to volunteers. The items can be picked up at the Pryde Aquatic and Wellness Centre starting next Wednesday.

Individuals, schools, businesses, and community groups are all welcome to participate in the clean-up.

"Volunteers can sign up as individuals or teams, making it a great opportunity for students to earn volunteer hours, organizations to team-build, and community groups to make a visible impact," Saugeen Shores said in a statement.

Additionally, those who help remove litter from public spaces will be entered into a draw for one of three Pryde Aquatic and Wellness Centre 10-Visit punch passes.

Anyone interested in taking part can register and select a date and location to clean at www.saugeenshores.ca/SpringClean.
