West Grey residents can tour new police facility

Residents in West Grey will soon have the opportunity to step inside their community’s new police station before it officially opens for operations.

The West Grey Police Service will host a public sneak peek of its new facility on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The open house will allow community members to tour the building ahead of the service’s move and the start of policing operations at the new location. Officers and municipal staff will be available throughout the afternoon to provide guided tours, explain the layout and features of the building, and answer questions from the public.

The new police facility has been built in compliance with the Community Safety and Policing Act, ensuring it meets current provincial standards for policing operations and officer safety. The design includes secure areas for evidence storage and handling, dedicated spaces to support safe prisoner care, and workspaces aimed at improving the efficiency of police services.

In addition to meeting operational requirements, the building has been designed to offer a professional and welcoming setting for residents who need to access police services. The West Grey Police Service says the event is an opportunity for the community to see firsthand how the new facility will support both public safety and modern policing needs.

Police are encouraging residents to attend the sneak peek and take part in what they describe as an important milestone for the community
