Huron East to host Job and Volunteer Fair

The Municipality of Huron East is preparing to bring residents and local organizations together with the return of its Job and Volunteer Fair later this month.

The event will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Seaforth and District Community Centre, located at 122 Duke Street in Seaforth.

The fair is designed to give people of all ages a chance to connect directly with employers and community groups from across Huron East.

Taralyn Cronin, Economic Development Officer for the Municipality of Huron East, said those attending will be able to learn more about a wide range of opportunities.

"There's a variety of positions," she continued. "Full-time, part-time, seasonal, volunteer roles, and quite a few student positions as well."

Admission to the event is free, and the venue is fully accessible, with all activities taking place on the building’s first floor.

"We're actually debuting a new program. We are offering our skills for success program, where Huron East residents can sign up for free or subsidized training," added Cronin. "And that includes food handling, Smart Serve, standard first aid and CPR, babysitting, as well as lifeguarding certificates."

Job seekers are encouraged to bring along their resumés and take advantage of the opportunity to speak face-to-face with participating organizations.

“The Job and Volunteer Fair is a fantastic opportunity for residents to discover the many ways they can build their careers and get involved in our community,” Cronin pointed out. “We’re proud to bring together local employers, community organizations, and job seekers in one accessible space that supports both economic growth and community engagement in Huron East.”

Local employers and community organizations are also being encouraged to take part in the 2026 fair. It's an opportunity to meet prospective employees and volunteers, highlight organizational services and initiatives, and build connections with other employers and community partners within Huron East.
