Stained glass exhibit coming to Minto Arts Gallery

Minto Arts Gallery will take the wraps off a new exhibit by a local stained glass artist next month.

“Looking Through the Glass” by Wellington County artist Ed Allen will open at the gallery, located on the third floor of the Harriston Library on February 5. It will run during regular gallery hours until February 27.

Allen, originally from the Mapleton area, began his foray into the stained glass art world when his wife signed him up for a class on a whim in the late 1980s. The activity was initially meant to fill free time in the winter months, but soon became a year-round passion.

Allen will be on hand to speak directly about his work at an opening night reception for the new exhibit from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on February 5. The reception is open to the public.

Minto Arts is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization. Additional information about the stained glass exhibit and other upcoming events can be found at mintoartscouncil.ca.
