Kincardine is set to host a new community event this fall with the launch of the inaugural Lighthouse-to-Lighthouse Half Marathon and 5K on October 4, 2026. The race will feature a scenic route connecting the historic Point Clark Lighthouse to the iconic Kincardine Lighthouse along the shores of Lake Huron.
The event aims to bring together runners of all levels while supporting local health care. Proceeds from the run will fund priority equipment and facility improvements at the Kincardine hospital, including Bruce County’s first MRI.
"This run is more than a race, it’s a statement about who we are as a community," said Becky Fair, President of the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation. "Every step taken on this course helps strengthen the future of care for our families, our neighbours, and the generations that follow. We’re thrilled to introduce an event that blends local pride with meaningful impact."
Race Director Sarah Foster highlighted the event’s community focus, saying, "we’ve designed a course that celebrates the beauty of our shoreline and the energy of our town. Whether you’re aiming for a personal best, sharing a challenge with friends, or cheering from the sidelines, you’ll be part of something that truly matters."
Organizers say the Lighthouse-to-Lighthouse run will become an annual fundraiser, combining a vibrant race-day experience with the opportunity to support health care close to home.
