South Bruce Peninsula woman wins $100K

A South Bruce Peninsula woman is having a happy holiday after winning $100,000 in the November 22 Lotto 6/49 draw.

Dawn Myles took part in the Encore draw, matching six of seven numbers to collect her prize.

"I checked my ticket using the ticket checker at the grocery store and thought the machine wasn’t working properly," she said while recently at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect her winnings. "I put the ticket back in my pocket, went out to the car, and told my grandson, 'I think I just won a lot of money.' He replied, 'Yeah, right!' I went to another store to double-check my ticket, and the screen still said, 'Big Winner.' Even now, it still doesn’t feel real!"

A retiree, Myles said she’s been playing the lottery on and off since the 1980s and always says yes to Encore.

With her windfall, Myles plans to purchase a new vehicle, pay some bills, and enjoy a memorable holiday season.

The winning ticket was purchased at Lloyd’s Smoke Shop on Berford Street in Wiarton.
