Huron East holding budget conversations on Saturday

Residents of Huron East are invited to share their thoughts on the 2026 municipal budget this weekend.

The Municipality will host an informal drop-in Conversations with Council event to encourage discussions about the 2026 municipal budget. The event is designed to provide residents with an opportunity to learn about the budget process and offer input on priorities for the year ahead in an informal setting.

The draft budget provided by staff projected a net levy increase of 3.2 per cent.

"Community input is essential to building a budget that reflects local priorities," says Municipality of Huron East Mayor, Bernie McLellan. "Conversations with Council is a chance for residents to speak directly with Council and staff in an informal setting. We look forward to hearing ideas and answering questions."

The event will take place Saturday, December 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Town Hall Council Chambers in Seaforth. Council members and staff will be available to answer questions and discuss ideas, and complimentary refreshments will be available.

Residents who are unable to attend the Conversations with Council event are encouraged send questions and comments to treasurer@huroneast.com.
