The Town of Hanover has received its scheduled payment from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation for hosting the local Playtime Casino.
The latest contribution from the casino totaled $351,571 for the months of July to September. That marked about a $4,000 increase from this year's first quarter payment.
OLG says the payments to host communities are based on a formula in the Municipality Contribution Agreement that is consistently applied across all land-based casino sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
"The Town of Hanover is able to enhance the quality of life of its residents through funding from the Municipal Contributions Agreement, made possible from revenues from Playtime Casino Hanover," said Paul Vickers, MPP for Bruce–Grey–Owen Sound in a release.
Since the gaming site opened in February 2001, Hanover has received $24,734,386.
