St. Marys residents looking for a little physical activity and comradery will be able to get an up close look at the town's recreation and leisure offerings at a special event next month.
St. Marys will host a Recreation Fair from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on October 17 at the Pyramid Recreation Centre. The two-hour event will include a diverse selection of booths and interactive demonstrations presented by minor sports organizations, service clubs, private recreation service providers, and exercise and wellness centres. There will also be information about programs focused on adult and senior recreation.
“Engaging in community activities supports both physical and mental health,” Recreation Manager Joannah Campbell said in a statement. “The Recreation Fair is designed to inform residents about recreational options available in St. Marys for people of different ages, interests, and abilities.”
The fair is free to attend and does not require advance registration.
Anyone interested in hosting a booth will need to fill out an application form on the town's website at townofstmarys.com/recreationfair by noon on October 3.
