A hit-and-run crash that caused extensive damage to a bridge in the Municipality of Brockton has led to charges against a Hanover resident.
South Bruce OPP were called about the collision on Concession 12 between Bruce Road 19 and Sideroad 5 Brant around 3:15 p.m. last Friday. Officers were told a box truck had hit the bridge and then took off from the scene.
Upon arrival, police noted extensive damage to the bridge and notified the municipality, which has closed the bridge until further notice while repairs are completed.
The investigation led police to charge a 48-year-old from Hanover with failure to remain at the scene of a crash.
