A pair of horses that collided at the Clinton Raceway over the weekend are expected to make a full recovery.
During the post parade of race 3 on Sunday afternoon, horses "read the proposal" and "Where to buddy boy" collided on the track. "Where to buddy boy" was on the track preparing for race 6 at the time of the incident.
Both horses reportedly suffered significant cuts. They were taken home where it is hopeful they will make a full recovery, the raceway said in a statement.
The horse drivers are said to be "stiff and sore", but other wise in good condition and did not require hospitalization.
"Clinton Raceway extends its appreciation to the attending track personnel and veterinary team for their swift response and care," the raceway said. "The safety of horses and drivers remains top priority."
